An education system of any country is the strong basis which determines its future. The education system of Pakistan has always been a question mark and unsatisfactory according to the literate people of Pakistan. Moreover, it is not easy to attain admission in the reputed universities until you have enough funds. The best education is reachable to all and everybody has the right to at least be given an opportunity once for choosing best for them.
However, there have been many events in which the government announced free education for students in different sectors of Pakistan but until now the implementation is hard to figure out. In April 2010, free compulsory education was committed by eighteenth constitutional amendment committee between the ages of children five and sixteen. If we observe these practices it’s hurtful to say that still millions of children are out of school. Moreover, natural disasters like earthquake and floods have destroyed some school buildings in Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa and Punjab. Rest role is played by an extremist who targeted the girls’ schools and forcing parents to keep their daughters at home.
Soon after Imran Khan became the Prime Minister of Pakistan. He is making some promising efforts to increase the ratio of children’s attending school. First of all, he raised his concern on the increasing population and stated that if this remains the same it will be hard to control the literacy rate. There are other issues that have been raised by PM Imran Khan and that seems too effective on education system if controlled.
There is a massive challenge faced by Imran Khan just after he attained his position. He also discussed the development of children mentioning that 45% of children have low growth and difficulty in brain development.
At times, when Imran Khan was the Chairman of PTI he made development in education by hiring forty thousand teachers on merit. He also raised the issue about the three different medium of education in Pakistan, Urdu medium, English medium and other religious seminars for the rest of the country. While criticizing the English medium syllabus that it is driving students away from their own culture. Adding that education for women is for immense importance. He also established three colleges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa out of which two were being set up for girls.
Adding to this, he also focuses on the skill development of youth in concern of utilizing their potential effectively. He suggested the establishment of National Curriculum council in order to create broad consensus among stakeholders bring in the common standard of education all over Pakistan. Also, a detailed presentation by Shafqat Mahmood has been given on the National Education Policy Framework that may draw attention to an important outline of the education system in Pakistan.
It’s been just a few months for Imran Khan as a prime minister; currently, the actual picture can’t be depicted that what will happen in the coming five years. However, people are expecting good as he always mentions certain facts and intriguing point in his speeches. The current situation is however critical as the rate of dollar is already increasing and people are afraid that to see well they will go through severe difficulties.
